"Drag Me Back To Hell" - Buckeye nailed the summation of this movie so I'll just add that if you're trying to be a horror flick don't try to be funny at times cause it comes off like satire of a flick like "Scary Movie" .

Defiance - 10/10. A great movie, loved every second of it. Just see it, buy it. Great.
The Hangover - that is the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. It's hilarious from beginning to end. 9.5/10
It is Sam Raimi though. You had to know he was gonna throw in funny stuff (even if unintentionally) into a scary flick. Evil Dead was his scariest/least funny flick--starting with ED2 and on into Army of Darkness though--things were still scary, but funny. I attribute part of that to Bruce Campbell (greatness personified), but still--a Raimi scary flick's gonna have some laughable moments.Quote:

Agreed. Even the build-up of tension in a slower paced horror movie (see Rosemary's Baby for instance--which is a top 5 horror flick for me) is really great compared to other movies with a giggle here or there. Or stuff like The Omen where you're constantly thinking that the protagonists are up the creek w/o a paddle from the word go. But--with Raimi, that's just his thing, with the comedic breaks to pull your guard down, then hit you in the face with a crazy monster from around the corner. It's to be expected.Quote:
